Let’s Talk Foundations
While we’re sure you’re completely excited to get started on this new adventure (and it is an adventure, EMBRACE IT!) We need to talk about a few basic principles and concepts that are foreign to most people. And let’s be honest, you are not going to learn everything you need to know from a website. We do want to arm you with enough information, regardless if you do or don’t make it through our selection process, so you will be equipped to evaluate other ventures that are out there.
The first basic principle we need to learn is to begin with the end result in mind. This is a practice we do constantly in most areas of our lives but it is not a common practice when it comes to how we earn income or generate revenue. When we grow up most people are groomed to trade their time for money. This is a form of active income that requires you to be clocked in and once you clock out, you are no longer making revenue. But as Warren Buffet stated, “If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.” That is a sober thought but we see the truth of that all around us. So many people are forced to continue to work simply because no one ever taught them how to earn money while they slept.
The second basic principle we need to learn is the difference between tools and methods. Most people view platforms as the method to reach a desired end result. But the simple fact is platforms are merely tools; what results in success depends on the method of using the tool. Without these basic principles, people start on the wrong path with the wrong tools and end up at the wrong destination.
For example, if you wanted to be an incredible golfer, you might think it’s the club that will make you a great golfer. The reality is if you, the holder of the club, don’t have great fundamentals, your shiny, expensive golf club becomes a shiny, expensive shirt rack! While a great golf club can make a difference in the right hands, it ultimately is nothing more then a tool to help you hit the ball. And your vision (or destination) of being a great golfer becomes a failed pursuit.
